Over the weekend, I decided 2 make a sandwich 4 lunch, and was s0 pleased by the result that I took some pix, thinking that it might prove to be 'blogworthy.' Herewith are the ingredients: two slices of an 'assertive' sour dough bread, lightly toasted, an acidulous brie spread over said slices and garnished with a ripe tomato and arugula. Serve on blue 'depression-era' glass (as in the first depression, not 2k9) and as u eat, consider all that's right with the world (via such a pleasant lunch), and all that's wrong with the world (via life w/o MJ).
I thought about the woman who approached me as I was placing the Fairway brand of camembert into my cart -- this was ten years ago -- and said: 'you really shouldn't buy that,' and then pulled me to the famous cheese counter and insisted that I order a wheel of 'Pierre Robert' even though it was 5x as expensive. But she was right: the Pierre Robert was unlike anything I had ever tasted; so rich, so creamy, so sweet with just the faintest bitter essence. But there was also a price: once you experience something great, it's hard to go back to the mundane (via life in a cubicle), and this is when u learn to start 'craving death' and must come to terms with 'growing old.'
Do u feel like New York City is still different than other cities?
Sometimes feel like MTV has destroyed New York (via 'The City')
Have you had any 'New York moments' since 9/11?
This is a post about the 'terrorism of nostalgia.'

This post looks SO good that I can't even finish reading it. I have to go eat something right now....
