One of the most beautiful streets uptown is Riverside Drive, particularly here, where it curves from Harlem into Washington Heights at 155th Street.
The trees are mature and the park heading down to the river is overgrown and a bit wild, which is actually a nice change from the rest of Manhattan, so much of which is so carefully manicured.
The apartments lining Riverside Drive up here are still relatively affordable, too, which means that the neighborhood doesn't have the crypt-like feel of so many areas downtown, or the college-dorm vibe of gentrified Brooklyn.
