I'm not sure why, but today I'm feeling a little 'blue' today. Ha ha, seriously though, I should be ecstatic, given that I'm not going to work for a minor eternity one whole week! Although the truth is, I never really go on vacation (via answering e-mails, which is something I can do 'remotely'). (If ur 'unemployed' feel free to call me a 'whiny beyotch' right about now.)
Today I did some interesting things: I went to work, I went to the gym, where I enjoyed listening to 'The Dark Ages' ep by Bedhead, which has really grown on me over the years, particularly the instrumental track in the middle. I always loved it, of course, but I now think it's one of the most perfect pieces of music I own. Then I went back to work and 'tied up loose ends' to get ready for vacation.
Is everyone looking forward to the hurricane this weekend? I'm relieved that the humidity finally broke, although I'm less than excited about the prospect of listening to the drunk scream his guts out at 5:00am (via sleeping with the windows open), as he has done every morning for the past ___ months. (I would have no problem setting out a 'human glue trap' for him -- j/k!) I asked the super's kids about him this morning -- they help out around the building -- and they blamed it on 'summer.' They said it was basically a 'war zone' on Broadway, which I guess isn't too hard to believe. There are definitely too many ppl around here with too much time on their hands. (Wish I were one of them, obv.)
It's hard not to get excited with anticipation as I consider the arrival of extreme weather; despite knowing that the reality is rarely pleasant -- to say the least -- I keep thinking that if it rains hard enough, we will all emerge somehow cleansed and better prepared to pass health care legislation gay marriage through the remaining days of 2k10, the worst year since ____.

Thanks, Ian -- I hope you enjoy it and the rain holds off, or if not, doesn't interfere too much! Sadly I can't make it, but I'm looking forward to next year. If you think of it, let me know what your top three gardens in Harlem are!
