1. Well, we did it: thanks to some strong reviews (including this one from Lambda Literary), articles (including this feature from the New York Manhattan Times), and -- most of all -- some excellent buzz on social media,* #gods has officially landed on the fiction bestseller list at Number 14 for the New York Times Small Press Distribution. To everyone who's bought, read, discussed, liked/hearted, and tweeted about #gods: THANK YOU <3 <3 [And If you haven't bought, read, discussed, liked/hearted, and tweeted about #gods, it's not too late: buy the book here.] *#gods at the beach (#woof) tweeted by hardcore bike-lane advocate @macartney

3. Even now, at the end of summer, there are flowers everywhere.
4. The early morning sun shines through the translucent petals (symbol of our collective soul).
5. If I were describing mainstream entertainment in 2017, I might use the park as a metaphor.
6. In reality, I would say, it is filled with trees and flowers, each one more beautiful than the next. In the mainstream-entertainment version of this park, however, it would have nothing but Norwegian maples, which is why this version would be tedious and dispiriting, particularly for those of us who have witnessed the real thing. There would be no sun shining through our collective (gay) soul.
7. And to those who produce and write about these versions as if they represent the real world I would like to @ u and say 'what r u afraid of? It's 2017 -- let ur gay light shine.'
